The 11 percent increase for those under 25 is not as dramatic because of the increase in telematics insurance policies (black box technology).
Despite the relatively low increase, premiums for the under 25s are still the highest of any age group in the UK and the average car insurance policy is £1,719.
It will come as no surprise to hear that car insurance in London costs more than £1,048.

Insurance costs in the capital have also risen faster than the UK average by 15.7 per cent over the past 12 months, but nowhere near the biggest rise.
The North East is the worst affected region, with premiums rising by 17.1 per cent compared to last year, while prices in Wales, Scotland and the South West also rose more than in London.
Although the average premium in these five regions is much lower than London, Scotland is still the cheapest region to insure your car with an average premium of just £518.

New research has revealed that the Ford Fiesta is the most popular car among young drivers when it comes to looking for insurance and costs an average of £711 for fully comprehensive cover.
However, it is not the cheapest to insure. In fact, according to figures from MoneySupermarket, Citroen’s rival supermini C1 takes the top spot for cheapest clothes.
Despite not being in the top ten most popular models for 17- to 19-year-olds, they cost £506 to insure – £205 cheaper than the Fiesta.

This is still above the average premium for the country’s most popular car which is £417 – £294 less than young motorists.
